Hadoop Tool Offers Business Analytics Missing Link

Customers looking for an inexpensive way to work with larger sets of data can take advantage of Karmasphere Analyst, a tool that allows business analysts to use SQL to query a variety of Hadoop implementations.
According to this report on Channel Tech Center, Karmasphere Analytcis could open the door to a whole range of new Hadoop application opportunities that would all be centered around improving the business analytics applications.
“The problem with Hadoop for many organizations is that its native interface is MapReduce. In the business world, SQL is still king. To address this issue Karmasphere has launched Karmasphere Analyst, a tool that allows business analysts to use SQL to query a variety of Hadoop implementations.
“According to Karmasphere CEO Martin Hall, a tool specifically designed for business analysts has been the missing Hadoop link.
“The reason that Karmasphere Analyst, which is priced at $2,495, matters is that there is an increased desire to rely more on analytics in the wake of the recent economic downturn.”
