SAS has boosted its local revenues for 2010 — in Australia and New Zealand, new software revenue was up 22 percent over the previous year. As noted in this report on Australian IT, the business intelligence (BI) leader boosted local revenue with a flurry of contract wins including energy company AGL, the Commonwealth Bank, Credit Union Australia, the Defence department, Telstra, and car accessories supplier Exego.

“Services revenue increased by more than 30 per cent, ‘reflecting the demand for our analytics team, in which we have significantly increased our headcount', he said.

“Defence signed a three-year $2.8 million software and support contract in April, while the Taxation Office extended its contracts for SAS software and support to May 2013, for a total $15.5m since June 2004.

“Among other government business, SAS has long-running contracts with Centrelink, Medicare, Health, Human Services and law enforcement agencies.”
