Siebel Systems (Nasdaq: SEBL), Monday launched Siebel Sales Handheld with the help of some friends.

The San Mateo-based company's e-Business application software is designed for the Microsoft operating system on a Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC.

The platform lets sales professionals access Web-based vital sales, marketing, and service information through their handheld devices.

“By putting critical customer information into the hands of mobile sales professionals, companies are better equipped to maximize the value of each customer interaction — ultimately achieving higher levels of customer satisfaction and increased revenues,” says Siebel executive vice president David Schmaier.

Siebel Sales Handheld allows a mobile salesperson to get synchronized information about products, pricing, detailed account activity history and the ability to update sales orders.

The platform also has an automatic upgrade feature for new Siebel Handheld software releases.
