What was once just a sales terminal can now be extended to gather real-time customer information at the point of the transaction. Blue Martini Software, Inc. unveiled its new marketing and sales applications designed to integrate with the IBM 4690 point of sale (POS) devices at the annual National Retail Federation Show in New York. The Blue Martini eCRM application suite was demonstrated running on the IBM 4694-246 terminal controller connected to an IBM SurePOS 730 register terminal and running the 4690 operating system v2R4 and the IBM GSA application
Blue Martini Software's Web-based customer and data management, analytics and rules-based personalization for use in stores will enable sales associates to inform customers about in-store events, promotions, or new merchandise, and help direct them to purchase merchandise in other departments or entice them back to the store with relevant offers.
“Retailers do little to leverage the wealth of customer data amassed in their data warehouse at the point of sale,” said Catharine Harding, director of retail industry at Blue Martini Software. “In today's competitive retail environment, retailers need to arm their sales associates with tools that enable them to best serve the customer and drive increased sales.”
Based in San Mateo, Calif. with regional offices in fifteen cities around the world, Blue Martini Software, Inc. provides eCRM applications for marketing and selling profitably across all channels, including Web sites, wireless devices, e-mail and stores.
